Takeoff’s musical career began in 2013, when he was featured on Migos’ debut single “Versace”.

The song peaked at number 99 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Takeoff released his debut solo mixtape, The Last Rocket, in 2018.

 The mixtape peaked at number seven on the US Billboard 200 chart.

Takeoff’s debut studio album, The Last Rocket 2, is scheduled to be released in 2020.

On September 7th 2020 it was reported that Takeoff had been killed in a shooting.

How did the shooting happen?


At around 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, Takeoff was shot and killed while leaving a nightclub in Atlanta.

 Stars took to social media Tuesday to pay tribute and express their condolences over the death of Takeoff.

Gucci Mane, who recently collaborated with Takeoff on the track “Us vs. Them,” wrote on Instagram, “This broke my heart” upon learning the news.

“This is horrible. From the tragedy of the death to the tragedy of there being a video of it online,” actress Keke Palmer shared on Instagram, referring to a video that appears to show the deceased rapper in the moments after he was shot. “It’s all just tragic and I am so sorry to his whole family and all he touched. Really terrible.”

Rapper Ja Rule aired his grievances about Takeoff’s violent death on Twitter, writing, “this has to STOP … sending love to friends and family.”

The Atlanta Falcons also released a statement on Twitter.
